How Much Does It Cost?

You can get all the information you need on taking up Paratriking with our 1-Day Introductory Course costing £195. You'll spend most of the day in practical sessions getting an introduction to the wing and the motor/trike unit. If after the 1-Day Introductory Course you decide that Paratriking is for you, the good news is that you can simply pay the balance and complete the Paratrike training course.

A BHPA HG / PG or SPHG rated pilot who wishes to gain his NPPL (Microlight) (Powered Parachute) Without Limitations licence – as well as completing all the flying and navigation tasks in the syllabus – will also need to obtain a Medical Certificate, undertake the 5 CAA written exams and pass a General Skills Test. For the cost of this training, please email paul@mahonyaviation.com for details.

An Ab-Initio Paratrike student (but one who has already gained his PPL or NPPL (M)) could be taught the paragliding and motor-operating skills to fly the Paratrike for around £995. You will be taught to ground handle and fly the wing first, as a matter of course.
A PPL or NPPL (M) pilot with a current BHPA HG / PG or SPHG rating could be converted to fly the Paratrike for around £395.

If you do not wish to purchase your Paratrike flying equipment through Mahony Aviation or you have already purchased it elsewhere, it will be necessary to use the school’s equipment (wing, trike, motor, reserve parachute & fuel) for the duration of your training course at a cost of £200.
